Donald Trump Claims He Turned Down 'Time' Person of the Year, Magazine Responds

Donald Trump says he was going to be named Time magazine’s Person of the Year but turned it down!

The 71-year-old President of the United States, who held the title last year, claims the magazine contacted him about the opportunity but he didn’t appreciate their offer.

Donald took to his Twitter account to explain the situation.

“Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named ‘Man (Person) of the Year,’ like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!” Donald wrote.

The magazine took to their own Twitter to refute Donald‘s claims.

“The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6,” the magazine wrote.

Donald Trump Sends Shocking Tweet About UCLA Basketball Players

Donald Trump just sent out a shocking tweet.

“Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal,” he wrote, before shockingly saying, “I should have left them in jail!”

If you don’t know the story, three UCLA basketball players – Cody Riley, LiAngelo Ball and Jalen Hill – were arrested last week after allegedly stealing while in China. Trump said he personally intervened and asked President Xi Jinping of China to release the players.

LaVar told ESPN about Trump, “Who? What was he over there for? Don’t tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out.”

Helen Mirren Wants to Play Donald Trump: 'I'd Be So Funny!'

Heads up to producers and casting directors out there – Helen Mirren wants to play Donald Trump and we think it should happen!

The Oscar-winning actress has embraced the idea of getting to play the current President of the United States, who she compares to a Shakespearean character.

“I’d be so funny as Trump,” Helen said (via THR). “I love it. I’ve almost got the hair! I mean what a fascinating character. What an extraordinary character. I mean that’s a character isn’t it, the real thing? I would say real life is so much more interesting than anything you can make up, you know. But you know, a fantastic sort of slightly Shakespearean character. He may have a Shakespearean fall, I don’t know but you know, he is an extraordinary character.”

Helen says it wouldn’t be too hard to penetrate his psychology and get into the deeper roots of the character.

“I don’t think that would be too difficult to penetrate quite honestly,” she added. “You look at the upbringing. You look at the schooling, the father, the mother. I don’t know much about Mr. Trump’s background, but if I was to play him, I would definitely start there. You have to start with the child, and the child is very much in Trump.”

During the show, Andy Cohen asked Rosie what it was like to have the President of the United States criticize her.

Donald Trump‘s opinion of me? Not really relevant. But when he got to be president, it was very trippy. It took me about six months to regain my equilibrium. I feel like I felt through the ice and I just was waiting to resurface,” she said.

“I told the truth about him ten years ago at a time when anyone could have find out those truths about him. But the media decided not to print it while he was running – not to talk about the fact that there was no equivalence between him and Hillary Clinton. They acted like he was a legitimate candidate, so I feel like mainstream media is really responsible.”
