Facebook Unveils New 'Reaction' Buttons, Users Respond

You may have noticed something different about your Facebook this morning — that’s because Facebook unveiled the new “Reactions” to replace the “Like” button!

Instead of just being able to “Like” a status, you can now “Like,” “Love,” “Haha,” “Wow,” “Sad” or “Angry” any status on the social networking site.

“We’ve been listening to people and know that there should be more ways to easily and quickly express how something you see in News Feed makes you feel. That’s why today we are launching Reactions, an extension of the Like button, to give you more ways to share your reaction to a post in a quick and easy way,” Facebook explained.

Facebook Is Getting a 'Dislike' Button!

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg made an exciting announcement today (September 15) — the social media site will finally be getting a dislike button!

“I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it,” the 31-year-old said in a question and answer session.

Last year, when asked about a dislike button, he answered, “Some people have asked for a dislike button because they want to say, ‘That thing isn’t good.’ And that’s not something that we think is good for the world. So we’re not going to build that.” We guess he changed his mind!

Facebook & Instagram Malfunction and the Internet Reacts - Read the Funny Tweets!

Facebook, Instagram, and Tinder all suffered malfunctions for some time on Tuesday (January 27) and many suspected a hacker was responsible making the sites inaccessible.

“Earlier this evening many people had trouble accessing Facebook and Instagram,” a rep for the companies said (via BBC). “This was not the result of a third-party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems. We moved quickly to fix the problem, and both services are back to 100% for everyone.”

During the outage, users quickly flocked to Twitter to express their displeasure that the sites were down – and there were some pretty funny user responses!
