Bob Weinstein, Harvey's Brother, Accused of Sexual Harassment by 'The Mist' Showrunner

UPDATE: You can read Bob‘s response to these allegations here.

Bob Weinstein, brother of Harvey Weinstein, is now facing allegations of sexual harassment.

Amanda Segel, an executive producer on The Mist, accused Bob of harassment during the production of the show.

Amanda said that Bob made multiple attempts to invite her out on private dinners since the summer of 2016 until her lawyer informed The Weinstein Company’s executives, including COO David Glasser, that she would leave the show if he didn’t stop personally contacting her.

“‘No’ should be enough. After ‘no,’ anybody who has asked you out should just move on. Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn’t want a friendship. He wanted more than that. My hope is that ‘no’ is enough from now on,” she told Variety.

According to Amanda, she allegedly agreed to a dinner that was filled with “highly intimate questions,” during which Bob asked if she would drive him back to the hotel. When she did, he asked her to come up to the room, which she declined.

He also reportedly continued asking her out to dinner, “joking at times that he was her boss and could fire her if she didn’t agree.”

A representative for Bob issued a response to the account: “Bob Weinstein had dinner with Ms. Segel in LA in June 2016. He denies any claims that he behaved inappropriately at or after the dinner. It is most unfortunate that any such claim has been made.”

A rep for The Weinstein Company also denied that David was contacted by her lawyer.

Harvey Weinstein Resigns From Weinstein Company After Firing

Last week, Harvey Weinstein was fired from his company, The Weinstein Company, after multiple allegations spanning decades of sexual misconduct came to light. Today, he officially resigned from the board.

TMZ reports that after he was fired last week, there was a five day cooling off period written into his contract. After five days (today), the board met to ratify the firing. Once the board ratified his firing, Weinstein was forced to resign. If he refused to resign, he would have been removed anyway.

It’s unclear if he will take legal action over the firing in the days and weeks to come.

Lena Headey Details Encounters with Harvey Weinstein: 'I Felt Completely Powerless'

Lena Headey has released a lengthy statement on Twitter adding her name to the list of stars who have had encounters with Harvey Weinstein where they were subject to sexual misconduct.

“The first time I met Harvey Weinstein was at The Venice Film Festival. The Brothers Grimm was showing there, (during shooting I was subjected to endless bullying by the director Terry Gilliam). At one point Harvey asked me to take a walk down to the water, I walked down with him and he stopped and made some suggestive comment, a gesture, I just laughed it off, I was genuinely shocked. I remember thinking, ‘It’s got to be a joke.’ I said something like, ‘Oh come on mate?! It’d be like kissing my dad! Let’s go get a drink, get back to the others.’ I was never in any other Miramax film,” the 44-year-old Game of Thrones actress wrote on her Twitter account.

Kate Winslet Says She Deliberately Didn't Thank Harvey Weinstein for Her Oscar

Kate Winslet revealed that when she won her Academy Award, she didn’t thank Harvey Weinstein in her acceptance speech for a reason.

Kate won Best Actress for The Reader at the 2009 ceremony. And while most actors who worked with the producer thanked Harvey during their speeches in the past, she purposely did not.

“I remember being told ‘Make sure you thank Harvey if you win.’ And I remember turning around and saying, ‘No I won’t. No I won’t.’ And it was nothing to do with not being grateful. If people aren’t well-behaved, why would I thank him?” she told the Los Angeles Times in an interview published on Saturday (October 14).

“For my whole career, Harvey Weinstein, whenever I’ve bumped into him, he’d grab my arm and say, ‘Don’t forget who gave you your first movie.’ Like I owe him everything. Then later, with The Reader, same thing, ‘I’m gonna get you that Oscar nomination, I’m gonna get you a win, I’m gonna win for you.’”

Kate recently made a statement about the Harvey scandal, calling his behavior “disgraceful and appalling.”

Kate introduced the screening of her Woody Allen-directed film Wonder Wheel alongside Justin Timberlake during the closing night of the New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Saturday (October 14) in New York City.

Woody Allen Hopes the Harvey Weinstein Scandal Doesn't Lead to a 'Witch Hunt Atmosphere'

Woody Allen is sad for everybody involved in the ongoing Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal – including Harvey himself.

The 81-year-old film director made the controversial statement in an interview with the BBC published on Sunday (October 15).

“Tragic for the poor women that were involved, sad for Harvey that [his] life is so messed up. There’s no winners in that, it’s just very, very sad and tragic for these poor women that had to go through that,” he said.

He added that he hoped this scandal didn’t result in a “witch hunt atmosphere” for men.

“You also don’t want it to lead to a witch hunt atmosphere, a Salem atmosphere, where every guy in an office who winks at a woman is suddenly having to call a lawyer to defend himself. That’s not right either. But sure, you hope that something like this could be transformed into a benefit for people rather than just a sad or tragic situation.”

Woody‘s comments – and the interview itself – have been met with plenty of criticism and backlash on social media. See reactions from social media below.

James Corden Apologizes for Offensive Harvey Weinstein Sexual Harassment Jokes at amfAR Gala

James Corden is apologizing after delivering a series of jokes centered around the ongoing Harvey Weinstein‘s sexual harassment scandal at the amfAR Gala in Los Angeles on Friday night (October 13).

The Late Late Show host, who emceed for the evening, continuously joked about the allegations to a mixed response from the crowd, and later received scathing responses on Twitter from Rose McGowan and Asia Argento.

“Right here in L.A., it’s so beautiful Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage,” he said to the crowd at one point.

“It has been weird this week watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water. Ask any of the women who watched him take a bath, its weird watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water,” he added in another joke.

In another instance, he made light of Lauren Sivan‘s account of her experience with the producer: “Harvey Weinstein wanted to come tonight, but he’ll settle for whatever potted plant is closest.”

Upon receiving backlash, James issued a statement on his Twitter on Sunday (October 15).

“To be clear, sexual assault is no laughing matter. I was not trying to make light of Harvey’s inexcusable behavior,” he wrote. “but to shame him, the abuser, not his victims. I am truly sorry for anyone offended, that was never my intention.”
