Nicki Minaj Opens Up About the Possibility of Releasing an Album With Beyonce Knowles!

Nicki Minaj graces the cover of Paper, which is out on newsstands on November 28.

Here’s what the 34-year-old rapper had to say:

On the idea of a female equivalent to Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s Watch the Throne: “I would be open to doing [that] if the time was right. I haven’t thought too much about that, though. The only person that I’ve seen a lot of people speak on, when talking about an album of that caliber, is Beyoncé ’cause we did ‘***Flawless’ [remix] and ‘Feeling Myself’ and we’ve actually performed together. I always see a lot of people saying, ‘Oh my gosh, a joint album with you guys would be really dope,’ but, you know, those are the kinds of things that are just wishful thinking from fans…They’re far-fetched because usually artists are in such different places in their personal lives and career lives that it’s hard to make that work.”

On her fanbase:
“I have a loyal fan base who never leaves. And all they do is motivate me and believe in me and fight for me. So anything that even seems negative has only made me even more of a magical unicorn. I feel this year I have never been stronger, I have all my super powers back. I’ve never felt this powerful, as a woman, as an emcee — I’ve never felt this invincible.”

On her next studio album: “I think the real music lovers just wanna be surprised, and all they care about is if I’ve grown as an artist and if they’re gonna be able to truly relate…I really don’t have much to say about the album other than it’s great and I’m excited about it.”

Nicki Minaj Is Ready to Break the Internet with 'Paper' Mag Cover

Three versions of Nicki Minaj appear on the cover of Paper magazine‘s “Break the Internet” issue.

The 34-year-old rapper was photographed by Ellen von Unwerth and styled by herself for a shoot in Miami, which will be featured in a 16-page editorial.

“To Break The Internet you have to have a big idea and an even bigger superstar, and Nicki Minaj is certainly that superstar. The best part is we didn’t get one Nicki, we got three,” said Drew Elliott, Paper’s creative director. “Paper always looks for ways to create culture instead of just report on it. Our media company sits at the center of where internet culture becomes pop culture, and Nicki is certainly a queen of disruption. This shoot was ambitious, imagine having to do three shoots to get one image, and Nicki lead the charge. Ellen von Unwerth brought her signature playful spirit to this shoot. The internet is the ultimate newsstand.”

Nicki Minaj's Brother Jelani Maraj Convicted of Sexually Assaulting a Child

Nicki Minaj‘s older brother Jelani Maraj has been convicted of sexually assaulting a minor who was younger than 13-years-old at the time of the assault.

The 38-year-old was found guilty on Thursday (November 9) during a trial in Nassau County, N.Y. He faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced.

Maraj‘s lawyers used an argument that the case was an attempt to extort millions of dollars from his sister.

“Justice demanded that this defendant be held accountable for these heinous acts and we are thankful to the jury for their careful deliberation,” Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas said in a statement to People. “We hope that today’s verdict will help the family in the healing process and that it will close this terrible chapter in their lives.”

Nicki has not commented on the charges against her brother.

Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Her Fourth Studio Album!

Nicki Minaj is on the cover of T‘s 2017 Greats issue, out on newsstands on Sunday (October 22).

Here’s what the 34-year-old rapper had to say:

On her forthcoming fourth studio album: “Sonically, I know what the album’s about to sound like. I know what this album is gonna mean to my fans. This album is everything in my life coming full circle and me being truly, genuinely happy. It feels almost like a celebration. The last album, The Pink Print, was almost like my diary, closing the chapter on certain things and not knowing if I was happy or sad about beginning new chapters. I was really writing about feeling unsure. Now, I can tell you guys what happened for the last two years of my life. I know who I am. I am getting Nicki Minaj figured out with this album and I’m loving her.”

On self-doubt: “Sometimes I wake up and say, ‘I don’t know if I can do this anymore,’ you know? I’ve had those times. I’ve had those years where I’m just like, ‘Am I good enough?’”

On overcoming double standards as a female rapper: “I had so much going against me in the beginning: being black, being a woman, being a female rapper. No matter how many times I get on a track with everyone’s favorite M.C. and hold my own, the culture never seems to want to give me my props as an M.C., as a lyricist, as a writer. I got to prove myself a hundred times, whereas the guys that came in around the same time as I did, they were given the titles so much quicker without anybody second-guessing.”
